Zoth-Ommog

Zoth-Ommog, also known as The Dweller in the Depths, is one of the Ogdru Hem and the third son of Cthulhu, being the younger 'brother' of Ghatanothoa and Ythogtha along with being older 'brother' of Cthylla.

Description[]

He has a cone-shaped body, a razor-fanged reptilian head rather like that of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, four broad, flat, starfish-like arms with suckers, and a mane of tentacles. How he swims or walks on the ocean floor is unknown, but it is possible that he has a slug-like foot similar to that of the Great Race of Yith.

Overview[]

The third "son" of Cthulhu and Idh-yaa, Zoth-Ommog was spawned untold eons ago in the binary star system of Xoth along with its siblings Ghatanothoa, Ythogtha and Cthylla; when Cthulhu relocated to Earth he took his progeny with him.

After suffering defeat in the long war with the Elohim, Zoth-Ommog was imprisoned by the gods beneath the seabed near Ponape and R'lyeh. Like his older brother Ythogtha, Zoth-Ommog is served by Father Ubb and the yuggs, a race of subterranean creatures resembling enormous flatworms. Zoth-Ommog's legend is chronicled in the R'lyeh Text and the Ponape Scripture.

In the modern age, Zoth-Ommog has created avatars which take the form of sentient statues. He uses these statues to cast his will into the dreams of men in much the same manner as his father. One of these, dubbed the Ponape Figurine, resided in the Sanbourne Institute of Pacific Antiquities for a time before being destroyed by the power of a star stone. Later on, Zoth-Ommog re-emerges on the island of Ponape and wreaks havoc until he is destroyed by an ancient ritual.
