TheZombie

Zombies.

A Zombie is a being that has died and then been risen from the dead through either magic or science.

Overview[]

They are also known as the "Living Dead" or the "Undead", and will spread their curse/disease unto other humans that get bitten by them. They generally will have no hierarchy and act purely on instinct, guided by a primal hunger that drives them to consume others of their kind.

Description[]

Zombies appear as humans with pale skin and yellow or deep crimson colored blood due to decomposition. Pieces of flesh tend to fall off any part of the body because of their rotting bodies. Zombies' eyes tend to fall out sometimes or are permanently bloodshot or pale white. Their fingernails tend to have an advanced growth rate and may even be classified as claws.

Zombies will wander aimlessly across an environment until finding living organs and flesh to eat. Zombies will move towards abrupt sounds or movements and attack in very large groups until they manage to overwhelm their much more intelligent prey. Zombies are unfazed by most physical obstacles, but struggle with any that require intelligence to overcome. Zombies are known to possess unmatched endurance, as they will continue to fight attack even when cut in half or dismembered, ceasing movement only after their brain has been completely destroyed.

Methods of Creation[]

Zombies can be created through various dark arts, including:

  • Voodoo Magic: Ancient voodoo practices in which voodoo witch doctors (sometimes called bokers in their native lands) have reanimated corpses through magical means. A process like this would usually require a "zombie powder", made with sharp, small needles that puncture the skin and allow a deadly neurotoxin to paralyze the victim and destroy the part of the brain where you can make decisions. The purpose of these resurrections is to control the bodies like puppets, making them completely subservient to the will of the one who raised them. They obey the commands of the necromancer without question, performing whatever tasks put before them. They will remain active until the spell is broken or until the one who raised them dies.
  • Experimentation: Clandestine human sciences related to the search for immortality. This can take the form of an alteration to the human genome or exposure to radiation or other forms of energy. The nature of the resultant creation will often lead to a world-ending viral threat, exterminating large swaths of mankind before being contained.
  • Curses: Divine curses put upon mankind by supernatural beings as a form of retribution for some mortal sin.
