The Void Sword is an extremely powerful and dangerous weapon with dark properties, created by Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos.
Description[]
The Void Sword is a much dreaded and legendary weapon of millennial import having infected beings of darkness and chaos that were either directly or indirectly under the influence and lordship of Nyarlathotep. Legends of it springing up from one end of the galaxy to the other, as being said to have been the very tool used to carve creations first dawn from eternal night. Other fables go on to say that it was created by the Ogdru Jahad during times of the Big Bang, using it to carve out existence from the immovable nothingness.
Much like the Nihilo Mask, should anyone else wield the Void Sword they will become nothing but an empty husk, a mere slave unit piloted by its own murderous will. All the same, this incredibly powerful and malevolent weapon responds to overwhelming negative emotions of rage or the like.
Overview[]
The Void Sword first came into existence when Nyarlathotep, messenger of the Ogdru Jahad, was first plunged into conflict with the Primordials and other divine celestial beings like the angels set about creating existence. Fashioning the jet black abyss of his own creator's "shadow" into a mighty sword which could cleave through the divine, he set out to darken creation and bring back his the Void that was sacrificed for the light to replace it by killing any and all divine entities tied to the light that so irked him before attempting to free his master.
However, through the combined might of the archangels, they managed to defeat the Crawling Chaos although unbeknownst to them, during his overcoming defeat, Nyarlathotep was able to separate the properties that make up the sword into slivers and conceal themselves by infecting certain individuals that would become the catalysts of an oncoming conflict.
As countless eons pass, Nyarlathotep manipulated numerous events and conflicts such as the War in Heaven, the Apocalypse, the release of the Old Ones, even minor ones on Earth through the slivers of the Void Sword that infected those whom started those events. He collected the very components that make up discord and despair during those eventful times since the beginning from the slivers themselves while empowering them in the process. It would be used for the purpose of corrupting the codex of the gathered Ab Initio Artifacts in order for Nyarlathotep create the Anti-Life Equation through it. Once the sword bears the numericals of the equation, Nyarlathotep would graft the material that was used to create the Right Hand of Doom onto the blade, which would then be used to break the Nihilo Mask as it is placed on the Alpha Earth, and unleash Yog-Sothoth throughout the Multiverse.
Capabilities[]
The Void Sword is capable of slaying virtually anything, as it is crafted from pure and living darkness and entropy that originated from the chaotic void that predated everything. As such, anything that is cut down by the sword is effectively consumed by its void-like properties and consequently erasing their very existence. It's considered to be the chaotic and dark counterpart of Uriel's sword.
The Void Sword has been used for countless millennia to kill the divine and imbibe on their deaths to feed the wielder power, killing the transcendent provides both it and its wielder greater power and beyond those of what they were once had but it also has the capacity to corrupt them into insidious, malevolent and otherwise warped beings. Truly darkened images of who they once were before coming in contact with it; as stated once by Michael, it demands a terrible price for its power, with a great many of its former wielders being driven to madness, killing their own brethren or brothers in arms over it.
