Vidarr, or Víðarr, was the Æsir god of vengeance and silence in Norse mythology. He is the son of Odin and the giantess Gríðr.

Víðarr is described as the son of the god Odin and the jötunn Gríðr, and is the Norse god of vengeance. Vidarr would always be summoned specifically to avenge his father's honor or those of his family members when they have been wronged in some way. He is described as a fierce and protective deity, not allowing anyone to be let off from their punishment.
He is foretold to avenge his father's death by killing the wolf Fenrir at Ragnarök, a conflict which he is described as surviving. He will press one foot on Fenrir's bottom jaw, and will take hold of his other jaw and tear the wolf apart. He is one of the gods that will rule the new world when it is created.
