| “ | Pluto was one of the angels that fell from Heaven for not being mankind's biggest fan. He kinda went overboard in wanting to unleash a bunch of eldritch gods to destroy them which is why he got solitary confinement. Even then, didn't really stop him from being one of the biggest and baddest rulers of the Underworld. From what I read, this guy was supposed to be the ideal devil king. 'Till Mundus decided that he didn't want the competition. But wait 'til you hear this: Mundus was actually scared of this guy. So, that should tell how far he went to make sure he wasn't a problem and who we're dealing with. | „ |

| “ | You alone were born to judge deeds obscure and conspicuous. Holiest and illustrious ruler of all, frenzied god, You delight in the worshiper's respect and reverence. Come with favor and joy to the initiates. I summon you. | „ |
| ~ Demons' hymn to Pluto |
Pluto, also known as Dis Pater or simply Dis, was a great and mighty king of Hell whose power was on par with that of Satan's. Pluto holds a key and scepter, which he uses to protect his kingdom and guard the dead from escaping.
Description[]
History[]
Genesis[]
Pluto was one of the earliest angels to be created by God. Some even make claims in that he was the first angel to emerge although this a subject of intense debate. Nevertheless, he was one of the more powerful yet mysterious angels on par with the first five angels that being Michael, Lucifer, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel. Pluto was charged with keeping hold of the Logos, known today as the Right Hand of Doom, that served as lock and key for the Ogdru Jahad who were imprisoned in the starless void that was beyond God's kingdom.
Falll from Grace[]
Pluto's role in the War in Heaven is unknown but given that he was cast out of Heaven it is possible that he too joined Lucifer's rebellion against God's authority. It was later revealed that Pluto shared Samael's disdain and hatred towards God's latest creations; Mankind. He saw that they would be no less destructive than the Ogdru Jahad only that their maleficence would be more tunely focused. Pluto opted to destroy them by unleashing the Ogdru Jahad only to be stopped in time by the archangel Michael before promptly banishing him to the Abyss with the rest of the fallen.
It is said that Pluto was the first to reach the Abyss followed by Lucifer and his fellow rebel angels. Moreover, it was further shown that Pluto held the Logos with him still but lost it when he fell. Pluto's fall was deeper than most of the other fallen angels to where Immanuel claims that the flames that enveloped him during his fall spread out and created the terrible realm that would come to be known as Tartarus. Pluto was the one that created the Erinyes who dispensed justice on both the denizens of Hell and criminals of the Human World. Pluto would come to rule over Tartarus for countless eons, and worked with Hell in maintaining the balance of where the damned will go depending on the severity of the crimes. To ensure that no conflicts arise between him and the newly established lords of Hell, Pluto also created the Key to Tartarus which he only shares with Lucifer when the Morningstar comes to check the security of Tartarus.
Imprisonment in Tartarus[]
When Pluto was made aware of the Logos he once held being found he began to make his way up from the bowls of Tartarus to retrieve it which took him many centuries. When Mundus punished Azazel and his cabal of devils that collaborated together in creating the Right Hand of Doom and use it as a means to destroy Heaven, he grew very concerned upon finding out that Pluto was on his way to retrieve the Right Hand. Even Mundus knew the futility of fighting Pluto as the fallen angel was greater than him in power. More so, he knew that the demons would turn to Pluto as their new lord given how a majority of the Demon World's denizens view Mundus very unfavorably ever since he usurped Lucifer.
Mundus had Mulciber forge chains of Adamas which the blacksmith only agreed to do when Mundus offered him a "light" sentence for working with Azazel. Sargatanas recalls on how it took the full might of the Balrog legion to ensnare and pin Pluto to the ground yet barely, before the Machai wrapped him in the Adamas chains. Mundus then threw Pluto back into the pits of Tartarus where he remained ever since, dreaming and brooding in his defeat and becoming a seething pool of madness and hate. But Mundus realized too late that with Pluto in chains, the worst prisoners of Tartarus would escape. Thankfully, the Key to Tartarus would not fall into Mundus' possession, instead given to Abaddon who filled Pluto's role in overseeing Tartarus.
Myths and Legends[]
Pluto is also symbolized by the pomegranate, the fruit of the underworld. Proserpina ate six seeds from the symbolic fruit and sealed her destiny. The hard outer shell of the pomegranate encapsulates a multitude of seeds representing fertility, prosperity and abundance. Each spring, when Proserpina emerges from the underworld and arrives on earth, she brings the seeds of fertility and the bloom of spring.
Due to being the Roman god of the Underworld, he was often conflated with either Satan or Lucifer with the rise of Christianity, and his old name Dis was even given to a demon. His name was often used as that of a demon or the devil himself in medieval and Renaissance literature and poetry, and Jacques Collin de Plancy, a French demonologist and occultist, referred to Pluto as Prince of Hell (more accurately a Prince of Fire) as well as an Grand Cross of the Order of the Fly and governor of the regions in flames.
