UNATCO's symbol
The United Nations Anti-Terrorist Coalition (UNATCO) is an agency of the United Nations officially created as a response to the growing threat of international cyber and bioterrorism.
Overview[]
UNATCO was a substituent organization of the United Nations and categorized as a subsidiary of the Global Occult Coalition. It was created as a counter-terrorism agency to combat against international threats posed by bioterrorists (Sarkic) and cyberterrorists (Mekhanite). It was supposedly formed during the War on Terror and has advanced in its units and arsenals in response to the myriad of growing advancements by Sarkics and Mekhanites.
UNATCO is ostensibly a United Nations agency, devoted to fighting terrorism on a global scale, making Security the muscle and considered to be the "gun" of the Global Occult Coalition, meaning that while the GOC handles the more supernatural threats which threaten the stability of the mundane world, UNATCO handles the the more intelligent threats that also dabble in paranatural forces and seek to weaponize said forces for the purpose of sowing chaos to gain control. In theory, UNATCO is supposed to uphold the values of the UN charter, including a commitment to human rights and peace worldwide.

UNATCO officially poses as peacekeepers, with a sharp focus on combating global terrorism by combining scientific breakthroughs with law enforcement operations. What is prominent in UNATCO's counterattack is their usage of weaponry designed specifically to combat paranatural terrorism: basically, UNATCO employs two task-forces imbued with the same enhancements that are in acquisition by the agency after a raid on several Sarkic and Mekhanite facilities.
It claims to have no interest in interfering with any country's sovereign rights, as long as they are behaving in a civilized, reasonable manner. While it purports to fight for freedom and liberty, its own operations are opaque by design: All of its activities are classified as above Top Secret, using Level 12 security clearances, and emphasizes strict, unhesitating obedience to orders coming from above.
Personnel[]
During specific operations UNATCO deploys two types of task-forces specifically designed to combat cyber or bio-terrorism. The two most well-known divisions in UNATCO's structure are FOXHOUND and NERV's Section 9, later privatized and dubbed as the "Diamond Dogs". UNATCO’s led by Joseph Manderley. Manderley runs UNATCO as a by-the-book leader that expects people to follow orders.
- FOXHOUND: An elite black ops or task force unit and a sub-division of counterterrorism against bio-weapons. Sent to pursue, apprehend, or eliminate facilities that deal in the the illegal trading and bioengineering of Alterbeasts and genetically enhanced soldiers. Are also utilized to track down and eliminate Alterbeasts that have escaped or possibly detain them.
- Section 9/Diamond Dogs: Formerly a task force created in the wake of Vanguard's dissolution under the oversight of NERV. Consisting of Joe Colton, William Blazkowicz, cyborg ninja Deckard Yeager, and Major Moira Stone, they were created to combat the growing threat of Rubicon and other cyber-terrorist organizations who invest and manufacture para-tech weapons. They now operate as a private military company renamed as WILLE with their task force called the Diamond Dogs.
