The Sentinels of Creatio, also known as the Light Sentinels, Disciples of the Light, Great Guardians, and the Sentinels of Creation, are seven ancient and primordial entities that were created by Asherah, the wife and consort of God and the embodiment of the Tree of Life. They were created to tend to the gardens around Asherah and the Tree of Life as well as guard them from any potential threats.
History[]
Background[]
Despite the defeat and imprisonment of the Old Ones, Asherah was convinced that the threat of these Eldritch abominations would loom over them in the foreseeable future. As a result, she created seven individual primordial entities whom were named the Sentinels of Creatio or the Light Sentinels. They were then given seven spears which were said to be more than capable of killing an Old One even one as powerful as Nyarlathotep himself. As eons pass, the Sentinels would tend to Asherah's gardens and the Tree while also protecting her. They were regarded as gardening aids for Asherah, helping Her cultivate all of creation.
Birth of the Scarlet King[]
It was not until the war in Heaven commenced that things took a more drastic and horrifying turn. Lucifer's war against God shifted the very nature and function of existence and this, unbeknownst to most, affected the youngest and the most fragile of the Sentinels known as Khahrahk. Khahrahk became aware of existence and it was so overwhelming for him it brought him great anguish which soon resulted in madness. Khahrahk soon snapped and declared that existence was so painful that it needed to be destroyed and his first action of rebellion against all that exists is him killing his siblings and devouring their essence which in turn empowered him. Khahrahk forsook his name and proclaimed himself as the dreaded Scarlet King who targeted the Tree of Life to end all of creation.
However, his plans were thwarted by the Seven Archangels, whom managed to wield the Seven Spears of the fallen Sentinels that contained a sliver of their essence that was saved by Asherah, and defeated him as he was weakened by Michael's relentless attacks with his own powerful Lance. Eventually, through the power of the Spears, seven nigh-unbreakable chains were crafted to imprison the Scarlet King with the chains themselves being tied to the life-forces of his own seven powerfully strong children. Should his children perish in any conflict they find themselves in, it would result in the chains snapping and freeing the Scarlet King.
Living in Essence[]
Despite the Sentinels perishing at the hands of their own sibling, they still live in a sense within their own weapons that stand around the Tree of Life. Eventually, however, their duties of tending the gardens and the Tree of Life were bestowed upon the Hesperides, the first children of Lucifer and thereby the first Theos Angelos as well as Asherah's grandchildren.
