Sappho (3D render by Katarzyna Stanisz)
Sappho was one of the Muses and the forgotten tenth Muse.
Appearance[]
Given that she was a goddess, Sappho was no doubt divinely beautiful like her sisters, but after her fall from grace, she regressed and turned into a demon. Sappho now takes on the appearance of a female humanoid with dark grey skin, beady red eyes, a small, squished-in nose, sharp fangs and claws, and bony arms. She's normally seen wearing a predominately black cloak.
Overview[]
Sappho was one of the Muses and thus a child of Purah and Mnemosyne. She is revealed to be the tenth Muse contrasting to the original belief of there being only nine Muses. It is believed that Sappho's attributes were elegiac and iambic poetry as well as romantic tragedies and artistry.
It is said that Sappho's poetry and writing was inspired by the love between her parents, however, since Purah fell from grace for intermingling with a god she was forbidden to write any lyric in regards to Purah. Regardless, Sappho would continue with her work surrounding the injustice that happened to her father. This has led to an intervention by her own sisters where they would strip her of her domain and cast her between the cracks of memory and forgetfulness.
Sappho's fall from grace twisted her appearance with the passage of time, until she was able to reach out to mortals who struggle in their passionate works. She would whisper promises of power and unprecedented artistic talent by utilizing the rats in the walls as her avatars. But such mortals that fall into her sway are enveloped in a sea of madness and depravity with a deranged obsession towards their own works. It is said that those who are taken by Sappho become one of her rats.
