Prodigium

Prodigium's symbol

Prodigium, also known as the Freemasons, was a multinational secret society comprised of the most brilliant minds in history. It is dedicated to tracking, studying, and, if necessary, destroying monsters and other malevolent individuals.

Overview[]

The Freemasons was said to have been founded around the early 1800s, although it is implied by historians that the society goes back far further than that, quite possibly during the Roman Empire, and is made up of history's most influential individuals. What makes Prodigium so unique amongst other modern organizations is that Prodigium was at first established to combat the Illuminati when they have supposedly aided in the creation of, and later infiltrated, the Roman Empire. In fact, throughout the many conflicts that occurred in history revolved around Prodigium attempting to fight back the Illuminati's influence on the development of civilization.

Unfortunately, the Illuminati proved far too formidable for the society and thus were forced to separate from one another but not without exposing the Illuminati's plans that were cunningly hidden within ancient scrolls, poems, and books. This in turn forced the Illuminati to send out their members who have infiltrated high society to acquire these parchments of texts and destroy them in order to suppress the knowledge of the public regarding their involvement in history.

Description[]

They are "preceptors, observers, beholders, chroniclers" of mysteries not easily explainable or known to men. They had knowledge of mysteries of the supernatural and many arcane arts like alchemy. The many individuals that have joined this secret society are made of well known writers, scientists, physicians, and philosophers such as H.P. Lovecraft, Mary Shelley, Ada Lovelace, Marie Curie, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Nikola Tesla, and many others.

It is revealed that the books or documents which have been written by some of these individuals are actual events that they have experienced in real life. It is also said that they were particularly "sensitive" when it came to making contact with the supernatural world and were regarded as outcasts by their fellow peers.

Due to their uniqueness, they are not exactly all that popular with normal people, especially those of high class. This is especially prominent in where their own works and contributions were far ahead of their time, like Ada Lovelace and her contribution to the creation of the Analytical Engine which has actually helped Prodigium calculate the necessary measures and statistics in preventing certain casualties befalling society.
