Pomona was the Roman goddess of fruit, trees, gardens and orchards.
As a beautiful goddess, she was pursued by the other deities, such as Silvanus, Picus and Vertumnus, with her getting married to the latter. The two gods would be celebrated with a festival held on August 13th and the priest of the goddess was called a flamen Pomonalis.
Unlike many Roman gods, she does not have a Greek counterpart, though she is often associated with the goddesses Demeter or Karpo.
