Phanes
Phanes or Protogonos is the primordial god of creation and life as well as the caretaker of the Cosmic Eggs produced by the Tree of Life.
Description[]
Phanes is described as having a helmet and broad, golden wings while sitting on a Cosmic Egg and entwined with a serpent. Phanes was a male god although others consider him androgynous.
Overview[]
Phanes is the child of Time and Ananke, he was a deity of light and goodness, whose name meant "to bring light" or "to shine"; a first-born deity, he practically embodied the universe itself and the light of creation it exudes. Phanes settled within the garden of the Tree of Life becoming something of an arborist for the tree itself and sees to it that it is properly nourished to keep all of creation stable. Phanes would perform this task by incubating the seedlings of the Tree of Life before the Hesperides cultivate it into the "soil" so a new universe would be born.
Phanes never acted much outside of his sworn duties to the Tree of Life but only ever interfered when he slew the Old One known as Ubbo-Sathla who was tarnishing the works of God and Asherah by producing foreign life that is not aligned with the flora of the Supremes, basically akin to weeds. As a result, Phanes promptly destroyed Ubbo-Sathla but not before the Old One would asexually produce a piece of itself that made its way towards Earth and became known as Abhoth.
