Old Breed
The Old Breed, also known as the Pre-Dead, were the first original demons.
Description[]
The Old Breed's appearances were mostly unknown but from what could be entailed, they were either vaguely humanoid, chimeric, or downright eldritch.
History[]
Genesis[]
According to Gabriel, the Old Breed were ancient primordial demons that were conceived by the Prime Evils. They emerged from the spilled blood of the Prime Evils during their battle against the Satanic Triumvirate. Iblis was also aware of them and even claims that the Old Breed were said to have warred with the Jann, 'prototype' life forms that existed 2,000 years before Adam, in a bid to claim the planet as their own. The Jann would destroy them unknowingly to ensure that the Earth would be cleansed for humanity to fully inherit it.
Their battles with the Jann crippled their numbers which forced them to seek out a means of replenishing themselves. At first they opted to cannibalize one another and undergo what humans label as mitosis, until an alternate solution came to them. They procreated with the Lilim, the monstrous children of the former archangel Samael and Lilith, the first wife of Adam, right before their destruction by God's three angels. Their union resulted in more demons, which eventually populated the Chaosplasm that would come to be known as Hell and co-inhabited the Inferno with Lucifer and his fallen angels.
Legacy[]
It is unknown what happened to the Old Breed but Gabriel claims that their time ended when the first fish crawled out of the ocean. Others, however, believe that after their destruction, they were tossed into the Abyss alongside the disembodied spirits of the Jann. Even so, their legacy is still present as they were responsible for Hell's population of hellborn demons. They were even used as basis for the Turok-Han, the oldest species of vampire, when Lilith mixed either the blood or semen of the Old Breed with her own, before she would then burn a bat using the mixture which in turn birthed the first known vampire.
