The Office of Strategic Reserve, commonly known as the OSR and later the Allied Occult Initiative, was a top-secret Allied intelligence agency during World War II.
Description[]
The OSR was formed as an agency of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the President of the United States to coordinate espionage activities behind enemy lines for all branches of the Allies. Other OSR functions included the use of propaganda, subversion, and post-war planning.
Overview[]
The Office of Strategic Reserve was a clandestine but top-secret Allied war agency that was founded during World War II and collaborated with other paramilitary organizations that fought against the Axis powers, especially the Germans. It was formed by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt to combat the Ahnenerbe, an organization formed from the remnants the Thule Society, an occult group of German nobility. Under Heinrich Himmler himself the group would try to help Hitler's cause with occult and supernatural means. The commanding officer of the Office of Strategic Reserve was Joe Colton.
One of the main goals of the Office of Strategic Reserve was to create a joint venture of paramilitary organizations such as Hellsing, the Order of the Silver Cross, and the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense to pursue and destroy the Nazis doomsday projects that would culminate in what they dub as the Rite of Solomon. The second was to create or employ superhuman combatants, of which they would deploy their troops to steal the information to do so from Jürgen Voller's X-Labs. They also had elite combat squads among their ranks, one of which were the Howling Commandos led by the legendary William Blazkowicz. The OSR was later absorbed into the Global Occult Coalition after its founding.
