Mount Hermon, also known as Jabal Haramun or Har Hermon, is a mystical mountain located at the border between Syria and Lebanon.

Description[]

The mountain is connected to several Eastern mythologies and religions. The mountain was also believed to be a cosmic nexus, a gateway that acted as the one pathway that allowed mortals to make contact with their gods. The top of Hermon was said to reach the heavens themselves, allowing access to the realm of the gods, while the cave systems below the mountain led to the underworld.

Overview[]

Before the Great Flood, the rebellious watchers, such as Samyaza, Azazel, Gadreel, Ramiel, and Baraqiel, descended upon Mount Hermon where they all made an oath to share the consequences of their actions from God and thus acted as their base of operations before traveling across the Earth to sire the Nephilim with human women.

After the flood, Gilgamesh and Enkidu traveled to the Cedar Forest of Mount Hermon, under the guidance Shamash, in order to challenge the monstrous giant Humbaba. After killing the monstrous giant, the two then logged the entire forest down.
