Libra is a secret paranormal organization within Hellsalem's Lot, dedicated to protecting the balance between Earth and the world of the supernatural. It is unknown how long the organization has been active, though given its close ties with the Hellsing Organization, the Nightstalkers, and the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, it can be presumed that they have been around before Chicago became Hellsalem's Lot.
Overview[]
Libra was presumably founded by Klaus Von Reinherz, or more likely his family, shortly after or before the portal to the Alterworld opened. Since then, its membership has expanded to include all the members listed below. Libra is said to have several unknown divisions that specialize in certain paranatural events with the main branch run by Klaus and his teammates and stationed in Chicago.
As stated before, Libra has close ties with the Hellsing Organization mostly due to the fact that Klaus' family would do business trips with Integra Hellsing's own family together. Klaus also states that his grandfather used to work alongside Trevor Bruttenholm during the early days of the Bureau.
Libra was also one of the main players in attempting to thwart Lucifer's machinations of bringing about the Apocalypse, which involved them attempting to protect Leonardo Watch from falling into the hands of the Illuminati and later Lucifer himself who desired to use Leonardo's unique eyes into finding where the Tree of Knowledge would sprout. And because of that event, their mission became more than pivotal in preventing the balance between the supernatural and the natural be disrupted. They became a part of the Dark Knight Initiative.
Description[]
Libra's members operate both inside and outside the city and are typically blood-technique users or some description of super-human. The full scope of the organization is unknown and, due to its secretive nature, precise information regarding the organization is said to be worth billions to the criminal underworld. Law-enforcement agencies within Hellsalem's Lot also appear to be after Libra, probably due to their vigilante activities. However, the police have been shown to co-operate with Libra in severe circumstances to achieve a common goal.
Due to its nature, knowledge of its members was kept a close secret as any being was willing to sell this information to unscrupulous parties or some individuals may even attempt to take down Libra themselves. Moreover, it is unknown how many members of Libra exist but it is believed that they have agents across the world. The notable members of Libra are believed to be the main faction whilst others are stationed in other parts of Hellsalem's Lot.
Libra's headquarters was a large skyscraper located within Hellsalem's Lot that had a high degree security system. This included technological and mystical defenses that could place he entire building on lockdown. In this state, mystical wards activated based on the state of security that incinerated any targets that attempted to break into the structure.
