Kiden "Nix" Nixon

Kiden "Nix" Nixon

Kiden "Nix" Nixon, born as Kidella Kyteler and known as Nix, is an introverted, rebellious, but powerful witch with a good heart. She is revealed to be a descendant of Alice Kyteler, one of the most powerful witches on Earth, and the last in the Kyteler bloodline.

Appearance[]

Nix is depicted as a beautiful, dark-haired Caucasian woman of average height, with a shapely hourglass figure, given to wearing wide wardrobe of dress-down flamboyant clothing, typically with a gothic bent to it. At the start of her career as a witch, Nix wore a punkish outfit but was colorful in appearance and her hair was originally blonde with a ginger colored streak at the front signifying her connection to the Kyteler bloodline of witches.

After the Apocalypse, Nix had her hair grow out past her shoulders and now wears a white shoulder-less and strapless corset top along with a short black skirt, a pair of black tights. She also would tend to wear black high heeled boots regardless of performing or not. She still wears a black choker collar stylized with a red jewel on it, along with a pair of black arm bands that covered the middle of her upper arms to her wrists.

History[]

Background[]

Kiden grew up on Long Island, New York. She lost her mother when she was two-years old, her father, a policeman, was killed during a drive-by shooting, and had no other siblings to grow up with. Alone and isolated, she began experimenting with magic at the age of eight and achieved success in ways she could not understand. Kiden saw herself as an outcast from the rest of society and found solace in the mystic arts. During her teenage days, she would use her powers for petty theft in order to help finance herself as well as secretly aid others from the sidelines such as making a homeless man win the lottery and start a new life.

Meeting John Constantine[]

At some point in her early twenties, Nix ran into none other than John Constantine as she was traveling and found him to be in the midst of a case involving a Changeling. John was impressed by seeing Nix simply snap her fingers and the Changeling reverted to its true form without the use of a metal horseshoe and more so that fairy magic is quite powerful in its own right. Later on, Nix and John developed a relationship which did not last since John needed to leave, and he did so without even telling Nix thus breaking her heart. However, Nix did take a piece of advice that John gave her before his departure and that she could become a professional showman in a circus or her own stage-play.

Later Exploits[]

By happenstance, Nix in her late-twenties, confronted John once again when he was hired by Integra Hellsing to investigate a string of brutal murders, disappearances, and vampires fleeing in terror from an unseen evil force. Not too thrilled at the prospect of working with Constantine, again, she reluctantly agreed and eventually the clues led back to New York City and to none other than Al Simmons now known as Spawn. Kiden throughout the story aided John and his allies in taking down the Illuminati which soon escalated in preventing Lucifer from bringing forth Armageddon and establishing a New World Order in its wake. In the midst of it she also became a close friend of Spawn.

Personality[]

Nix was at first shy, introverted, and isolated but had a strange yet likable tendency to make friends wherever she goes. Despite her rebellious and punk-like nature, she is kind and compassionate at heart, wanting to help others who cannot help themselves. She is aware of her enormous potential as a witch but is humble to the point where she would rather help out the "little guy" than to use her power for selfish gains; although in the beginning she did perform petty theft using her powers but mainly to help her survive.

As the series progresses, Nix demonstrated a more outgoing and charismatic personality. She is also extremely brave and selfless, and regularly puts her life on the line to protect others, something that earned her the respect from the likes of John Constantine, Dante, and others. There were times, however, where she was on the verge of mentally snapping and breaking down, requiring a supporting shoulder and someone to bring her back to reality. This shows that despite her roots in the mystic arts she is still naive to the horrors that lurk behind the dark corners of the world. Overtime, however, her mental fortitude grows and develops with the aid of her close associates.
