Imogen
Imogen is an angel and a partner of Immanuel. She was one of the two angels who was tasked by Heaven to save Vergil in Hell.
Appearance[]
In her human form, Imogen resembled a beautiful pale-skinned woman who was 5'6" with long red hair and bright hazel eyes. Her hair would brighten whenever she accessed her powers. She wore a frilly button-down white shirt and jeans with a green jacket, the last of which she later swapped out in favor of a navy coat that went down to mid-thigh.
History[]
Background[]
Imogen was one of the Principalities, a choir of angels who guide and protect nations, groups of people, and institutions like the church. She was also Immanuel's superior since the Principalities charge the Powers with certain tasks. Imogen was particularly close to Immanuel, who noted that they had "been through much together" and were as close as siblings could be.
As one of the Principalities, she observed humans for 2,000 years and became loving of them for their capacity to love and forgive, which is why she wholly admired Sparda for defeating the insurmountable dark forces of Hell for humanity's sake and through his thankless deeds Imogen would bear witness to what the human race could offer, their indomitable will to persevere even during the Dark Reign, and the innate yet immeasurable power of the human spirit.
Vergil's Inferno[]
Her love for humanity was what made the archangel Gabriel take her as first lieutenant alongside Immanuel who was second lieutenant. Gabriel would confide to Imogen and Immanuel in his feelings towards humanity and how Heaven feels callous and uncaring towards their fate which they chalk it up as their ultimate judgment and that it is the will of the Lord.
When Vergil, as Nelo Angelo, failed in killing Dante he would be severely tortured by Mundus who too was defeated by the Son of Sparda and took his frustrations out on the cambion. Gabriel was one of the archangels who was aware of Vergil's role in the coming Apocalypse with him being labeled as the "Righteous Man" whose broken will shall shatter the first seal that holds Lucifer in his tomb. Knowing that he is risking much, Gabriel makes a dangerous gamble even knowing that it's what Heaven intends. He sends Imogen and Immanuel to descend to the Demon World. When Vergil was on his final attempt to escape, Imogen alongside Immanuel, hidden from plain sight, were guiding Vergil through the Inferno in order to escape.
