Heather Ortega is the adopted daughter of Tomas Ortega. She is a powerful psychic that was reincarnated through Amy Martin which was originally intended to become a vessel for Baphomet.
Overview[]
Before Heather was born, a cult in the town of Silent Hills summoned a demon named Leonard who would go on to impregnate Amy Martin during the Black Mass. Amy was the byproduct of a life filled with nothing but immolation and extreme suffering. Her possession back back in 1986 would complete the mutilation of her soul, enough to where it left 'gashes' for Baphomet to seep into while her body becomes a husk which culminates in Baphomet being reborn and bring their horrific version of paradise to mankind.
During the ritual, the cult was intercepted and opposed by Tomas Ortega, a priest who once defected from the church but restored his faith after his role in saving the world during the Apocalypse. Tomas alongside his allies were able to stop the deity, but the ritual was too much for the now-whole Amy, sustaining significant burns before causing her to split her soul into two halves – one remaining in her charred body, while the other manifested as the baby Heather who was saved by Tomas during the ordeal.
Tomas raised the child as his own and named her Heather Ortega, experiencing a fulfilling seventeen years with her adoptive father. However, trouble was always on the rise as demonic forces in league with the Halo of the Sun and Baphomet would pursue the two in order to complete the accursed ritual of the Second Death.
Appearance[]
Heather has dyed blonde hair, which is chin-length and layered with side swept bangs covering her right eye. Her hair is somewhat disheveled and shaggy. Her hair has been bleached and dyed blonde, and her dark roots are showing. Freckles and blemishes can be seen on her face, arms, and legs. The skin around her eyes is sometimes portrayed as pink and reddish, giving the impression that she has been crying or is teary-eyed. She also sometimes has slightly dark eye bags which give her an exhausted, weary, tired look.
Her default outfit is an orange, sleeveless turtleneck under a white, hooded vest with four front pockets used to hold a flashlight and ammo, and a dark green denim mini skirt. She also wears tall brown boots, a digital wristwatch, and orange wristbands on each arm.
Personality[]
Heather is a seemingly normal and carefree girl who loves to shop. She has a few rough edges and tends to be blunt with others. One trait of Heather's is that she is moody and loses her temper quite easily at things that frustrate her, which are considered normal emotions for a teenager. Heather has a sharp tongue and can be very snarky, sarcastic, and humorous. Nevertheless, hidden in her heart is a great source of kindness which stemmed from her adoptive father's teachings. Heather views suffering as a natural, and sometimes unavoidable, part of life, yet doesn't like the idea of Claudia Wolf hurting and killing people to achieve her goals, as seen during their heated arguments.
No longer a child yet not quite an adult yet either, she still bears childish conceit and naïveté. Heather is still vulnerable, as there are moments when she can be quite sensitive and emotional. Heather experiences vicissitudes and is a scared, stressed, exhausted, and frightened teenager struggling to realize her identity and find her place in the world. Heather has a great love for Tomas, viewing and acknowledging him as her real father rather than her adoptive one. To this day she carries his rosary which symbolizes how much he meant to her and that he treated her as a human being than a monster.
She adapts rather remarkably to the disturbing spectacles she finds on her journey. Upon discovering a bloody corpse covered by newspapers, she says she feels her ordeal has numbed her senses. Her bravery and nonchalant reaction to various creatures and horrors, forged by her resolve later, all point to a rather feisty and hot-headed temperament, perhaps to a fault. Despite her father being a Catholic priest, Heather herself appears to be very irreligious or anti-religious, possibly atheist or agnostic, saying that she doesn't care about Claudia's visions of "God" and "Paradise". Heather occasionally expresses a deep disgust regarding religion; her possible apathy or disdain of God and religion is understandable considering the hell Amy went through for seven years.
