“ | The nations you pair come from hate one another in spite of your mutual love? Fool them into replenishing their armories. Seize it all. Convince them that love indeed conquers all. | „ |
~ Halphas. |
Halphas, also known as Malthus, Malthas or Malthous, is the 38th of the Ars Goetia summoned by King Solomon and is an Earl and Count of Hell. He is also said to be a Prince of Hell that commands 26 legions of demons.
Description[]
He is called the Count of death and destruction, and appears as a jet-black dove with blood-red eyes. He is a craftsman and builds towers full of weapons. Often times he is also depicted in the shape of a stork or dove and is said to have a rough hoarse voice when speaking.
Malthus builds towers and fills them with ammunition and weapons, and can outright incite war. He is also said to send his legions into battle, or to places designated by higher commanding demons. He burns towns; it is also said that he builds towns and fills them with armed men. Malthus takes swords to the wicked and sends men either to battlefields or to other places.
Overview[]
This spirit upon evocation in the black mirror, builds towers and fortification surrounding the magician. This may be reflected in a spiritual manner, creating astral towers of which protect the magician from any attacks.
In the Black Mirror, Malthus may be then invoked into the magician, as a part of recalling the spirit as an atavism. This will strengthen the mental aspect of the individual who seeks to create a solid essence of self which may not be attacked by spiritual means.
Malthus has his own challenge which it that his opponent must bring back more Mamedanuki skins than Malthus himself can capture in one cycle of the moon; he counts a tie as a loss on his part, as he says he is a perfectionist.
According to Rudd, Halphas is opposed by the Shemhamphorasch angel Haamiah.
