Gnoph Keh
The Gnoph Keh, or Gnophkeh, are a savage race of primates descendent from the primal hominids, specifically the Yeti and are closely related to the Voormi, both of which are their mortal enemies.
Overview[]
Given that the Gnoph Keh were once a species of Yeti, they like the rest of their hominid relatives were experimented on by the Elder Things, and were already unique in terms of their biology, but upon being further tampered with by Ithaqua, some diverged into two races; the most prominent are the Yeti who retained their intelligence and humanity while the other half became the Gnoph Keh, who regressed into savage beasts; this was likely due to them encountering another of the Ogdru Hem known as Aphoom-Zhah whom the Gnoph Keh revered. This also sparked a heated conflict between Ithaqua and Aphoom-Zhah.
According to Tibetan monks, these groups were corrupted and the other were those that Ithaqua conceived, with the Gnoph Keh being more adapted to the cold, inhospitable environments of certain caverns deep beneath the Earth's surface. The Yeti and the Gnoph Keh were occupied in various conflicts with one another (which may explain as to why the Yeti did not heed the call of the Sasquatch during their own conflicts with the first humans) and would often result in many migrations and repelling from both tribes to other inhospitable cold climates around the Earth. While the Yeti would flourish, the Gnoph Keh could not as it is said that they are on the verge of extinction.
Description[]
The Gnoph Keh are sharp-horned, coarse-haired beings with six long-limbs, found in Greenland and the Arctic Circle. They are superficially similar to their descendants, that being the Voormi, but their additional set of arms grant them the ability to endure even tougher labor and workloads than the Voormi. It is said that a single Gnoph Keh is stronger than four Voormi, but less intelligent than one. In addition to their brute strength, the Gnoph Keh also possess a single massive horn which grants them the ability to "see" the presence of other minds, as well as the ability to "read" thoughts and speak via a primitive form of telepathy that relies on memories and images to convey concepts.
Gnoph Keh biology is the result of generations of guided evolution by the Elder Things upon the Primal Apes. This warping of their DNA produced the two races known as the Voormi and the Gnoph Keh, who were forced to serve as slaves for their ancient masters deep underground until the eventual downfall of their civilization. The Voormi were descended from the Gnoph Keh specifically, possibly due to mating with other hominids who fell under the corruption of the Ogdru Hem, thus producing even more monstrous humanoid creatures.
