The Global Occult Coalition (GOC), also known as the United Nations Global Occult Coalition (UNGOC) is governmental counter-paranormal terrorism organization tasked with maintaining both national and global security. Next to the Federal Bureau of Control they are the most powerful paranormal agency on Earth with many connections to other powerful supernatural organizations.
Description[]
The GOC are a largely political force, seeing themselves as the police of the paranormal world. They pride themselves on destroying supernatural entities that pose a threat to humanity, and make use of the most high-tech experimental technology possible, obtained from their benefactors. Many potential paranatural anomalies have been destroyed by them before the Federal Bureau of Control could obtain and contain them.
Officially the GOC does not exist but if it did it would be comprised of some of the top men and women from the best military units in the world. According to Mustang, the GOC houses military units assigned to them by ten nations (supposedly twenty-three) working together and sharing intel.
They have been both on the side of the FBC and against it at times, depending on the situation. They largely hold the FBC in contempt for their use and containment of Altered Items rather than their out-and-out destruction. The GOC has respected the FBC's formidable might enough to leave it mostly alone, although there have been some questionable incidents with which the GOC have strictly denied involvement.

Background[]
Founded in the wake of the Allied victory over the Axis powers and the Ahnenerbe in World War II, the Global Occult Coalition was organized to protect the United States and the world from all possible threats while being overseen by the United Nations. With its advanced weapons and extraordinary agents, the GOC is perhaps the greatest military power on Earth with its only rival being the Federal Bureau of Control.
The GOC was once known as the Office of Strategic Reserve, which fought the Thule Society and Ahnenerbe in Seventh Occult War/WWII and consisted of a joint-operation featuring the Hellsing Organization, the Order of the Silver Cross, and the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. The three mighty organizations worked together in order to thwart the Thule Society and the Ahnenerbe from performing the Rite of Solomon and later Project Ragna Rok, two ancient occult rituals where one can be used to change the nature of thaumaturgy (magic), and how to distribute supernatural powers among to the human population and the other involving the release of the Ogdru Hem to wreak havoc across the Earth. After the war, the countries wanted more oversight over the supernatural, and the GOC is said to have been formed from 108 different and powerful occult organizations.

The GOC had to deal with the significant rise in supernaturally enhanced individuals, dangerous occult items/weapons, and paranatural contact. But all the problems the GOC had to solve eventually led to the formation of the Dark Knight Initiative, a project that involves the many paranormal organizations dedicated to destroying the forces of darkness functioning as response team to save the world from the Illuminati who desired to release Lucifer, his apocalyptic forces, and preventing the Apocalypse. Over the years the GOC has become a major player on the world stage, having even more funding than most other organizations, and is often seen as the "police of the paranormal world".
