A ghoul
A Ghoul is an undead supernatural being originating from Arabian folklore. A ghoul or ghūl (which translated from Arabic means "demon"), is known to inhabit cemeteries or other types burial grounds.
Description[]
In some lore, ghouls are not dissimilar to zombies, being corpses re-animated by witches or demons that can be commanded. Like zombies, the typical method for dispatching a ghoul is to destroy their brains. Ghouls are humanoid in appearance, with pure white skin, spiky vertebrae protruding down their spines, and sharp claws on their fingers and toes. Their faces lack any features, until they reveal their mouths, filled with dozens of razor-sharp teeth.
Ghouls are much stronger than ordinary humans. They are strong enough to toss a human around like a ragdoll, and strong enough to dent concrete. Ghouls are also able to leap several feet high in the air. While ghouls are much stronger than humans, they are not as strong as demons or werewolves, however, their strength rivals that of vampires. And even then, they could increase their abilities by consuming large quantities of food.
Overview[]
In lore they are known for preying on young children, drinking blood, stealing coins, and most famously consuming the flesh of the dead.
Ghouls were originally created by Mordiggian, an Old One associated with death and decay. However, the 'modern' ghouls differ from their ancestors as the original 'ghouls' created by Mordiggian were referred to as Necromorphs. As said before, ghouls are creatures that traditionally feed on the the dead, though some have been known to feed on living humans. They can only be killed by decapitation or the destruction of their heads. Ghouls are unaffected by silver or holy water.
Even though ghoul can only feed on humans, other ghouls, and corpses, they can drink water. They are unable to digest any other type of food due to a particular enzyme their bodies produce. The structure of their tongues are also different from humans', making other foods taste disgusting and uncomfortable.
