The Flatwoods Monster
The Flatwoods Monster is an alleged unidentified extraterrestrial or cryptid reported to have been sighted in the town of Flatwoods in Braxton County, West Virginia, United States on September 12, 1952.
Description[]
Various descriptions of the entity exist, but most agree that it was at least 7 feet (2.1 m) tall and that it had a black face which appeared to glow from within, and a black body. Witnesses described the creature's head as elongated, non-human eyes and as either being shaped like a sideways diamond, or as having a large circle shaped cowling behind it. The creature's body was described as being inhumanly-shaped and clad in a dark pleated exoskeleton.

It is believed that the Flatwoods Monster is an alien possessed by a rogue Yithian. This Yithian would not be among its kind that was buried beneath the Sandy Desert of Australia, it went rogue as it wished to spread the message of an impending cataclysm that would destroy all life, but it was cast out for not following the code of the Yithians. This rogue Yithian then managed to transfer its consciousness to another unidentified extraterrestrial which the humans dubbed the Flatwoods Monster in order to make its way towards Earth to bypass the psionic barrier the other Yithians placed upon it.
After encountering the creature, several members of the September 12 group reported being overcome with similar symptoms which persisted for some time, which they attributed to having been exposed to the mist emitted by the creature. The symptoms included irritation of the nose and swelling of the throat. Lemon suffered from vomiting and convulsions throughout the night, and had difficulties with his throat for several weeks afterward. Meanwhile, the crash landing of the alien's craft severely damaged the body to where it was forced to abandon its former host and find another, this time in the form of a humanoid being named "Indrid Cold".
A doctor who treated several of the witnesses is reported to have described their symptoms as being similar to victims of mustard gas. The body of the creature was brought before the Federal Bureau of Control by the Men in Black. The Department of Extraterrestrial Intelligence from the FBC, believe that the Flatwoods Monster was presumed to be a rogue member of the Great Race of Yith as its neurological brain functions emitted a frequency similar to that of the Yithians. Thus there is heavy implication that a Yithian was inhabiting the mind of this creature.
