The Demonic Paradise Wiki

Enyo is the Greek goddess of war and the "twin sister" of Ares the god of war. She frequently paired with Ares as a companion, sister, or wife.

Overview[]

As goddess of war, Enyo is responsible for orchestrating the destruction of cities, often accompanying Ares into battle. She is depicted as "supreme in war". During the fall of Troy, Enyo inflicted terror and bloodshed in the war. While she is at times mentioned as being the "sister" of Ares, the two are not blood related. The likely reason this seems to be the case is due to their equal desire for combat and warfare and seem to embody the term "cut from the same cloth".

History[]

Titanomachy[]

Enyo so delighted in warfare that it is said she even refused to take sides in the battle between Zeus and the monster Typhon, eager to fight against both factions. The events and battles that Enyo engaged in during this conflict are known as Enyo's Titanomachy, as her actions and motivations were entirely separate from the Olympians and at times in opposition.

Goddess of War[]

During the fall of Troy, Enyo inflicted terror and bloodshed in the war, along with Eris, Phobos, and Deimos, the latter two being the children of both her and Ares. She, Eris, and the two sons of Ares are depicted on the shield of Achilles. Enyo was also involved in the war of the Seven Against Thebes, and in Dionysus's war with the Indians as well.

Battle of Mount Ida[]

Near the conclusion of the Trojan War, Enyo is believed to have faced off against an ancient Ghost Rider, the spirit of vengeance, who had heard the vengeful prayers of the slain Trojans and vowed to avenge their deaths.

The two engaged in a tremendous battle that shook the very foundations of Mount Ida. Her skills in battle are said to have been so precise and brutal that she nearly had the upper hand against the rider; however as the battle progressed, the Ghost Rider's limiters were broken and the tides immediately turned to the Rider's favor, leading to him overwhelming the war goddess.

It eventually lead to Enyo's defeat by the Ghost Rider's hands but he could not unleash the final blow as Ares, the god of war, intervened and knocked the Rider off the mountain. This battle led to a heated conflict between Ares and Raguel with Ares and Enyo shaming the archangel for failing to be more watchful of his precious Dark Angel host and interfering with affairs that do not concern them. Raguel rebutted by saying that Enyo should have a more wide perception on who is to rightfully fall by her sword.
