Daoloth
Daoloth is one of the Ogdru Jahad, or the Outer Gods, trapped within the Outerverse.
Description[]
Like the rest of his fellow Outer Gods, Daoloth's form is incomprehensible to humans. Daoloth's indescribable shape causes viewers to go mad at the sight of him; thus, he must be summoned in pitch-black darkness. If not held within some kind of containment, he continues to expand and expand — perhaps even at an infinite rate.
One request that can be made to Daoloth, magically contained, is to view things as they really are, not as our veiled senses perceive them. The sight is usually more than one can bear.
Overview[]
Daoloth is an Outer God, one of the Seven Gods of Chaos fated to destroy creation itself upon their release. He was also worshiped by depraved mortals but his worship is rare on Earth due to being an Outer God. He is even believed to have been the cause behind a community of Inuit villagers living at Angikuni Lake disappearing without a trace in 1930.
According to Kate Corrigan of the B.P.R.D., summoners of Daoloth use the Daoloth formula where he is held in some kind of magical containment, such as the Pentacle of Planes, and it is likely the Inuit villagers were unfortunate casualties and got transported to other worlds/planes of existence, which usually leads to the perishing of said person. However, the formula has only seen mild success for none were able to implement the core variable which is the Right Hand of Doom.
According to the Revelations of Glaaki, Daoloth will play a role in the end of days when he pulls back the veil and reveals the true dimensions of reality. Further details reveal that Daoloth's power will be used in conjunction with the Right Hand of Doom by the Osiris Club to open a tear that leads to the Dark Tapestry and allow the Ogdru Jahad to at last slip into our universe.
