The British Paranormal Society, also known as the King's Men, is a group of British citizen and colonial secret agents, employed by the British Government until the mid-20th Century, that serves to protect the United Kingdom and the British Empire from paranormal and normal threats. They disbanded in 1944 then reformed as the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense.

History[]

Background[]

The British Paranormal Society is a loose alliance of various English secret agents, many of which possess unnatural abilities nor are they human to be exact. They first came together in 1914 during the start of World War I where they are employed by Herbert Kitchener, the Secretary of State for War, who has come to believe that the Great War may not simply just be a case of anarchy and social unrest from enraged middle and lower class citizens but a cunning plot to pit the German, Russian, and British empires against each other. The group, headed by the mysterious Mister M from a secret mountain-top headquarters, have their own network of agents, including the Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin, a trusted adviser to Tsar Nicholas of Russia.

World War[]

The Society traveled all across Europe where they are met with Mister M's network agents, wielding an assortment of advanced weaponry as well as their own breed of supernatural powers as well. Mister M in question is revealed to be James Moriarty, the archenemy of Sherlock Holmes who is also a member of the British Paranormal Society, with his plan of instigating the Great War as acquire shares in multiple war profiteering companies to make himself a fortune. Moreover, he intends to perform this by selling the warring countries advances weapons of destruction that were created by the Church of the Broken God which were once thought to have been destroyed. They were able to destroy Moriarty's factory as well as defeat Moriarty himself thereby preventing the Great War from further rendering the world into ruin.

Shadow over Innsmouth[]

In 1922, Professor Ian Thatch alongside his cohorts, sailed across the vast ocean and encountered a small but highly sinister town known as Innsmouth, which was located on the coast of Essex County, Massachusetts. It was there that Thatch along with the crew discovered unholy and horrendous activities being conducted in the town, and according to his journal, the town was under the command of a cult known as the Esoteric Order of Dagon that worship the "Old Ones from the Stars Above". While they were forced to combat the inhabitants of Innsmouth who turned out to be monsters themselves, the town was later destroyed after one of the crew members called in the Marine Corps to burn it to the ground.
