Biffant is a demon under the service of the archdevil Dis, who commanded only one legion of lesser spirits. In 1623 he and his one legion possessed Denise le ca Caille in Beuvais, France.
Overview[]
Biffant was introduced when Hellboy was being guided by Sargatanas towards the resistance as they traversed the Slums of the Damned. According to Sargatanas, he was made to write out, using his claw as a pen, the verbal process of exorcisms. This act was egregious against the laws of Hell and by the decree of the infernal nobles he was punished. Beelzebub had him chained and tormented by Pyramid Head demons in the Slums of the Damned, an undercroft below the upper layers of the City of Dis.
