Bagdana is a king of Hell and a demon who oversees the Lilim in Jewish magical texts from early medieval Mesopotamia.
Overview[]
Bagdana is described as a king of demons but lesser compared to his more prominent superiors in the demonic realm. Bagdana was charged by either Lilith or Asmodeus to oversee the Lilim, the demonic offspring of Lilith herself. His name was invoked by ancient Mesopotamians in incantation bowls, and Aramaic incantation texts from Nippur to ward him and the Lilim away.
The charge was likely given to Bagdana after Lilith was focusing her time on aiding Lucifer in the earliest phases of his mission to bring about a New World Order and thus was occupied in maintaining control over the Lilim. To ensure his control over the Lilim, Bagdana was given a piece of Lilith's Crook which he uses as a whistle to have the Lilim come and go as he so chooses.
