Al-Lāt, also known as Allat, Allatu, and Alilat, was one of most prominent, mighty and most popular goddesses in the pre-Islamic Arabian Peninsula.

Description[]

Al-lat was believed to be an avatar of Asherah, the wife of God, and one of the physical manifestations of her epithets just as God has the likes of Yahweh or El. Moreover, she was a surviving figure that entails the existence of Asherah which is noteworthy considering Abrahamic figures would reject the notion of God having a consort. She was the goddess of war, peace, combat, and prosperity, sister of Al-Uzza and Manāt, and mother of Dushara.
