Agiel.
Agiel, the Intelligence of Saturn, is mentioned as a spirit in such works as the Key of Solomon. As it says on the 10th Plate: "The First Pentacle of Mercury. It serves to invoke the Spirits who are under the Firmament".
Description[]
Agiel is a fallen angel and is described as being the presiding spirit of the planet Saturn, with Azazel. Like most angels, Agiel bears a bizarre and alien-like appearance even in his fallen state. Agiel also appears as a glint of light or a bright orb that soars through the skies. The sounds that were recorded from the planet Saturn are revealed to be Agiel's voice when he speaks.
History[]
Background[]
Being that he is a fallen angel, Agiel once resided in Heaven only to be rebel by aiding Lucifer in his war against God. Agiel was among a troop of angels tasked by Lucifer to follow the coordinates provided by Stolas via the stars to make their way towards Earth. However, Agiel and the band of angels were intercepted and thwarted by Abdiel who promptly imprisoned their spirits in Saturn, the planet they crossed on their way to Earth.
Agiel has been on Saturn for countless eons but it was not until the Convergence took place that it disrupted the alignment of the planets in the solar system and consequently weaken Agiel's prison, enough for him to reach out from the confines of his prison. Agiel would send his legions out for a reconnaissance, exploring the vast regions of space and relaying any information that could be of use to him. It was not until another Convergence took place a thousand years later that Agiel was finally able to locate the one planet he was denied, Earth.
Agiel would observe all the events that took place on Earth, particularly around the time when Sparda rebelled against Hell which held the Convergence that exposed the planet's location to him. He was fascinated by the myriad of creatures and humans who inhabited this world. Among the more curious and fascinating developments were hybrids, the offspring of two species that result in an entirely new life-form. He discovered the likes of Nephilim, Elioud, and Cambions which led him to wanting to conduct his own experiments on such creatures. The reason why was to find a hybrid with considerable power to fully shatter the seal placed on him by Heaven.
Kidnapping of Kyrie[]
Agiel would come to use the fallen spirits that were imprisoned with him on Saturn as his eyes and ears, as well as having them to abduct a specific set of humans which they dub as a "full flesh one". What this means is unknown, but some hunters believe that Agiel seeks a healthy human to mate and produce a powerful offspring which he will then use its power to break the seal.
After the Apocalypse, the veil that barricaded the natural from the unnatural weakened significantly, which included seals and prisons that kept powerful and dangerous forces at bay like Agiel himself. Taking advantage of this, Agiel was able to project his astral self in the physical plane for longer durations and gave his fallen spirits more freedom to operate in his name. In modern times, Agiel found the fabled "full flesh one", a human he perceives to be pure in heart and soul, revealing it to be Kyrie. Agiel later sends some spirits to infiltrate Fortuna, one of which immediately tries to kidnap Kyrie and transport her back to Saturn but is fought back by Nero.
