The Demonic Paradise Wiki

Abezethibou, also known as Abezethibod, Abezi-Thibod , or Abeziberu, is a Prince of Hell and the child of Beelzebub, one of the Seven Kings of Hell.

Overview[]

He is a one winged cambion who followed his father Beelzebub upon his fall from Heaven, and later became an important demon in the hierarchy of Hell under the leadership of the Seven Kings of Hell, even coming to have his own throne within the Stygian Council.

History[]

Background[]

According to legend, Abezethibou is Beelzebub and Naamah's son, who was born when the Lord of the Flies consorted with the Succubus. Abezethibou was conceived as a means of producing an entity powerful enough to slaughter legions of the Heavenly Host. He grew rapidly and followed his father during the War in Heaven, where his power was displayed when he would devour the Aether from their bodies after slaying them, growing stronger as he did. Abezethibou would have given Lucifer's army quite the advantage had he not been defeated by Uriel in combat within Amelouth, the first heaven. Abezethibou was left with only one red wing during his duel against the archangel and banished from the heavenly realm.

Exodus[]

Some accounts claim he later traveled to the land of Ancient Egypt, where he corrupted the mind of Dumah, the angelic defender of Egypt. In doing so, he came into conflict with Azrael, the Angel of Death who had slain all the firstborn in Egypt when Dumah refused. After a prolonged battle, Azrael managed to drown Abezethibou along with the Egyptian army within the Red Sea, and trapped him beneath a "pillar of water". Abezethibou remained trapped and alone beneath that pillar until the demon Ephippas arrived to free the demon from his imprisonment and take him back to Hell.

Solomon and the One-Winged Angel[]

When King Solomon summoned Beelzebub for an interview, the prince of the demons revealed that his child named Abezethibou had accompanied him when he fell from Heaven, a frightening one winged demon that tore through many angels during the War in Heaven and consumed their Aether to empower him. He claimed that all those imprisoned in Tartarus would fall in Abezethibou's maw, a hopeless endeavour to satiate his hunger, and that this charge comprised Abezethibou's primary role and burden in the demon world, his eternal role as the son of Beelzebub. Beelzebub adds that he would conduct experiments on his son, often feeding him substances composed of peculiar elements to see how it would affect his body and hunger. Furthermore, Beelzebub claims that one day when Hell's gates swing wide open and he [Abezethibou] is ready, then "he will come in triumph and marr the body of Christ".

Later, Abezethibou himself appeared before Solomon, informing the king that after his fall, Abezethibou roamed Egypt, and, after the appeal of Moses to let the Israelites leave Egypt, cause Pharaoh's heart to harden. He went with the Egyptian army in the pursuit of the Israelites, only to be intercepted and defeated by Azrael who made the Red Sea collapse upon him, crushing and drowning him in the process, where he was imprisoned by a pillar of water. Solomon instead used the opportunity to bind both Abezethibou and Ephippas to the "pillar" and cursed them to keep holding it up in the air until the completion of his temple.

Sparda's Rebellion[]

Abezethibou was present during Mundus' invasion of the human world, acting as his father's right hand and weapon while ensuring that the Apostles do not diverge from the tasks given to them by the Lord of the Flies. It was not until news broke of Sparda's rebellion against the powers of Hell that Abezethibou's interest finally peaked, moreso when learning that the Legendary Dark Knight single-handedly defeated some of the kings of Hell, their generals, and soldiers.

When Sparda arrived at Beelzebub's stronghold to destroy his Hellgate, he was met by Abezethibou who wasted no time in getting the fight started. Finally having found a worthy opponent, Abezethibou started to exchange blows with Sparda and used just about every ability in his arsenal in an attempt to win - strength, poison, speed, and even his own legion of insectoid demons - to no avail, as Sparda easily countered every one with his superior power and strength.

Personality[]

Abezethibou was an arrogant and bloodthirsty archdemon, respecting people only through their abilities to endure combat with him. Having been introduced to war and bloodshed from the moment he was born, Abezethibou was understandably cruel, violent, and merciless, a stark contrast to his more lordly father. He showed no empathy towards humans and viewed them as nothing other than a food source, killing and devouring a child when he was summoned to the human world by Beelzebub during Mundus' invasion.

However, Abezethibou is shown to be a rather complex devil for even though he would slaughter thousands of humans and wouldn't shed a tear, he was strangely fascinated by them. He would often wander into abandoned human settlements and occupied himself by satiating another hunger; his curiosity. Perusing himself by reading human books and inspecting their constructs, Abezethibou started to question the differences between demons and humans and battled with his identity as half-human and half-demon, questioning the nature of violence and strength as true power.

He was introduced to the indomitable spirit of human will when he fought several humans who rose up to rebel against their dark masters after they were given hope by Sparda. Even though he effortlessly killed these humans, he admitted to being captivated by their immense potential through their tenacity in breaking their own limits. This epiphany made him the first demon to understand why Mundus wanted to conquer them, because they held an innate power that he feared, and a power that was slowly beginning to awaken within Sparda who embraced his humanity.
